HIKING TRAILS

  • Josh Park Memorial Trail — 1.23 mi. easy, flat walk. Located at Dam Site Park just off Hwy. 25B N. Has toilets, drinking water, picnic area, and fitness station at the trailhead.
  • Bridal Veil/Cornelius Falls Trail — .6 mil round trip, the trail to the falls can be slippery and requires surefootedness. Located on the south side of Heber Springs, 49 Bridal Veil Falls Rd (off of Hwy 25 south; near Arrow’s Café and Ozark Country Market). Parking at trailhead and picnic tables with a nice easy-to-navigate overlook.
  • Sugarloaf Heritage Council Trails — The Summit Trail (.66 mi. round trip) which leads you to the base of the summit of Sugarloaf Mountain east of Heber Springs on the ASU-Heber Springs Campus is moderate to steep. Tonawanda Base Trail  (1.30 mi. long) meanders around the base of the mountain. It is of easy to moderate difficulty with some small hills and occasional uneven footing. Hidden Pond Trail (.25 mi. to pond) is easy, relatively flat and paved, with good footing and a picnic table near the pond.
  • Sulphur Creek Multiuse Trail System–The Sulphur Creek Trail offers a pleasant, tree-lined route in the central Arkansas community of Heber Springs, just a few blocks south of Main Street. You can find a map and more information on the trails at Home – Heber Springs Area Trails (gfltc.com).

No trip to Greers Ferry Lake would be complete without a visit to the ADA accessible U.S. Army Corps of Engineers William Carl Garner Visitor Center where, in an effort to make each visit enjoyable as well as educational. Volunteers greet visitors at the front desk and assist visitors with maps and information about area camping, swimming, hiking, boat launching, lodging, activities, and points of interest. Further, you will find a brochure rack filled with local information that provides visitors with information about local flora and fauna around the Greers Ferry Lake area.

Riverland Golf Course

Whether you’re here for business or pleasure, we would like to invite you to Riverland Country Club. Located just outside the city limits, Riverland offers a beautiful 9 hole course near the Little Red River. Each hole has unique challenges for even the most accomplished golfer. This course plays 3,012 yards from the blue tees (back tees). The course has two par 5’s, two par 3’s and five par 4’s.
